A recent online poll also listed the movies that men will shed tears over. Which movies ranked in the top ten?
10. Field Of Dreams
Kevin Costner starred in this 1989 Best Picture nominated movie. Costner portrays Ray Kinsella a man who builds a baseball field on his property where the past Chicago Black Sox slowly appear.
This 1946 classic film told the story of George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart), who, through the help of Clarence (Henry Tavers), gets to see how others would be effected if he had never existed. “It’s A Wonderful Life” was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar while Stewart was on the short list for a Best Acting award.
8. Gladiator
Maximus (Russell Crowe), a general in the Roman army, is betrayed and finds himself fighting for his life as a gladiator in the coliseum. 2000’s “Gladiator” also starred Joaquin Phoenix as Commodus.
7. Green Mile
Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) is a guard on the notorious green mile, the infamous part of a prison that houses inmates who are to be executed. Enter John Coffey (Michael Clarke Duncan), a man wrongfully accused of murdering two girls who also has the mysterious power to heal the sick. Will Paul be able to save John before his time is up?
