Charity Folks Auction to Aide Hurricane Katrina Victims

The devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina has been immeasurable.  Families have been uprooted and torn apart, people have lost their lives and not only have homes been destroyed but entire cities have been impacted.

While some Hollywood figures have made personal donations to organizations such as the Red Cross others have given their time through benefits such as NBC’s “A Concert For Hurricane Relief”.  For his part in the relief effort, Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman has joined forces with the American Red Cross, partnering with Charity Folks to auction off a number of Hollywood related items with proceeds going to benefit those effected in the Gulf Coast region.

What are some of the items that are part of the auction?  Of particular interest to movie enthusiasts is autographed memorabilia and VIP passes to movie premieres.  A few of the items available are:

-   “War of the Worlds” Items signed by Tim Robbins, Dakota Fanning and  Morgan Freeman

-   A copy of “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” autographed by Benicio Del Toro, Johnny Depp and Hunter S. Thompson

-   “Million Dollar Baby” poster signed by Hilary Swank, Morgan Freeman and Clint Eastwood

-   Posters from “Moulin Rouge” and “Cold Mountain” autographed by Nicole Kidman

-   “Pirates of the Caribbean” item signed by Orlando Bloom

-   “After the Sunset” script autographed by Pierce Brosnan and Selma Hayek

-   A Shrek doll signed by Mike Myers
