Al Pacino to Receive AFI’s 2007 Life Achievement Award

 

 

The renowned actor Al Pacino will receive the American Film Institute’s 35th Life Achievement Award.  The Life Achievement Award, which honors an actor’s career in film, will be awarded at AFI’s annual gala on June 7th, 2007 in Los Angeles, CA.

 

Pacino has long been one of the most recognizable leading men in movies.  Since 1973 he has received eight Oscar nominations, winning in 1993 in the Best Actor category for his work in “Scent of a Woman”.

 

The actor has starred as several of cinema’s most notorious characters including Michael Corleone in the “Godfather” films and as Tony Montana in “Scarface”.  Pacino has also starred in “Serpico”, “…And Justice For All”, as Big Boy Caprice in “Dick Tracy”, “Heat”, “The Devil’s Advocate”, Any Given Sunday and the upcoming “Ocean’s Thirteen”.

 

The ceremony is scheduled to be aired on the USA Network on June 19th.  Please check your local listings for times.
