Popular Movie Costumes For Halloween (2006)

 

Halloween is the perfect time to dress up like our favorite movie character!  What are some of this year’s popular costumes that may be ringing your doorbell for some trick-or-treating?

 

Animal House

Toga, Toga, Toga!  A favorite for men, women and couples, the inexpensive toga costume from “Animal House” still remains timeless.

 

Batman

Who’s the person behind the mask?  While the caped crusader is a favorite for men and boys, Batgirl is the choice for many girls and women.

 

Corpse Bride

This haunting character is a favorite for girls and women.  The character is based on the animated feature Corpse Bride featuring the voices of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.

 

Harry Potter Characters

Although “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” isn’t scheduled to hit theaters until July 2007, characters from the previous movies still remain a Halloween favorite.  Harry Potter characters are magical for boys and girls of all ages.

 

Marilyn Monroe

Although she’s not a movie character, this legendary actress has long been a Halloween costume favorite.  Dressing up as one of Marilyn Monroe’s movie characters is a favorite for many women this Halloween.

 

Miami Vice

Crockett and Tubbs jumped from the small screen to the big screen in this year’s “Miami Vice” starring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx.  The two characters are popular Halloween costumes for the guys this year!

 

Pirates

The popularity of pirate costumes is at an all-time high thanks to this year’s biggest movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.  The costume is popular for all ages.

 

Superman

“Superman Returns” was a hit summer movie this year starring Brandon Routh.  Don’t be surprised to see the “man of steel” this Halloween.  Superman and even Clark Kent costumes are popular among men and boys.

 

These Costumes Are Killers!

Who best to dress up as than some of our frightening favorites?  Freddie Krueger from “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, Leatherface from “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, Michael Myers from “Halloween” and Jason Voorhees from “Friday the 13th” are favorites among men and teens.

 

V For Vendetta

“V for Vendetta” was a hit movie this year starring Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving.  The movie’s masked hero, V, is a Halloween favorite with the guys!

 

Zorro

The swashbuckling Zorro was popularized by two films, Mask of Zorro and “Legend of Zorro” starring Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta Jones.  The masked hero/bandit is a popular costume with men and boys.
